If you’re nearly ready to go solo or on your first solo navigation flight, it is mandatory that you at least have the school exams passed for Air law, Communications and Navigation. You can attend any of the 9 individual subjects or the entire course. You can attend from anywhere with a good internet connection. Find out more here>>

Our Proposed COVID Re-Opening Plan.

Phase One – July 2020

Subject to the government advice on flying with use of PPE at that time, our intention is to re-open in July. If we are still unable to open in July, we will remain closed until August. Our opening hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 08.30 – 17.30. We will be closed on Monday and Sunday until further notice, to work in line with the airports opening times.

Initially we will be opening to students and currency flights for licence holders only. We will not be accepting any trial lessons or social visits at the moment. Should you wish to visit us this is by appointment only. You must follow our COVID guidelines of which will be published prior to re-opening. This will include measures you must follow onsite and what PPE you need to equip yourself with in order to visit or fly with us.

Hiring Aircraft & Currency Check

We have a strict 90 day policy on pilot currency, to protect pilots from skill fade induced risks. For this reason all private hiring pilots will require a briefing with an instructor and a currency check of up to 1 hours duration depending on competency on the flight. If you are currently a paying member you will be able to use your Free 2 hours instruction to cover the instructor costs. You will still need to pay for the aircraft hire and landing fee’s. You will then be able to hire an aircraft for periods of up to 1 hour only in July, whilst we catch up with the currency demand.

Phase Two – August 2020

COVID Precautions will be in place for the foreseeable future.

All current pilots will be able to hire aircraft. We will allow one passenger by request at this time, following our COVID guidelines. Students pilots will be able to participate in lessons. We shall still limit the number of people through the building and will still not be accepting visits without appointment.

We shall be operating a skeleton staff through these periods, so appreciate everyones patience and support during these times.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Keep safe and blue skies
