Partnering with NEBOair, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint by gradually upgrading our fleet to modern aircraft, burning unleaded fuel, combined with the introduction of Electric Training Aircraft. We hope to revolutionise the way we train pilots using modern equipment, more closely aligned with the technology found in modern vehicles and commercial aircraft.
Championing New Technology
Almat is committed to embracing new and existing technological solutions for cleaner sustainable flight training. Using the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the world’s only certified electric training aircraft, we aim to incorporate these aircraft into a normal course of pilot training, to reduce the hours spent in gasoline burning aircraft. NEBOair are developing infrastructure for electric flights at UK airfields, making training on electric aircraft for a complete course a real possibility in the future.
That in conjunction with the Pipistrel SW121, a modern gasoline engined aircraft, burning just 15 litres of fuel per hour, these aircraft are far more economical than the aircraft of yesteryear, that typically use around 30 litre of fuel per hour. Combined with modern technology such as glass cockpit and ballistic recovery parachute system, these aircraft are not just modern but safer.
