What Is In The Guide?

Our FREE learn to fly guide contains information about our fast track courses and gives comparisons with learning at your own pace. It is also a complete roadmap from having the idea of becoming a pilot to applying for a licence and beyond. Presented in a logical sequence of “10 steps to success”. It is useful whoever you decide to learn to fly with. It also compares the fast track approach with learning at your own pace and the differences between PPL and LAPL licenses.

How Much Does Fast Track Cost?

Details of the costs of flight training and budgeting recommendations are included in our free guides. Getting a pilot licence is based on competency, so there is no upper limit on the cost of training. You can use our guide to help make sure you have sufficient financial resource to complete the course. It is possible to get a pilot licence in the minimum hours (30 for LAPL 45 for PPL), but the national averages are higher.

More About Fast Track Training

The courses include everything a complete beginner needs to achieve a pilot licence. But can also be tailored to the individual if for example you have already logged some hours or have some of the equipment / study material.

Your bookings are managed for you by our team and we have an online system for making your bookings, logging your flights and adding your training records that you will have access to.

How Does Bad Weather Affect Training?

It is an unfortunate fact of the British weather that you will have a lot of flight cancellations. For this reason when people join a fast track course we start off making you double the amount of the minimum flight hours you need for the licence you are pursuing. We review youre progress and make additional bookings for you as needed.

All your flights including a significant amount of contingency bookings in case of cancellations e.g. due to weather are booked as soon as you join the course.

Plus we guarantee that if you do not pass your flying skills test first time, we will pay for your second attempt!

“I completed my PPL in Feb 2019 alongside studying for my degree course at University. Iā€™ve now moved on to training for my commercial pilots license. Almat are one of the best in the business and have the best values for training, private hire and experience flights. The company has made and still making a huge amount of improvements. Almat has many opportunities which are not to be missed. Huge thank you to my instructors especially Carmen for supporting me through my PPL.”
