About Central Flight Training
Central Flight Training specialises in advanced modular pilot training. At Almat Flying Academy our commercial pilot training (except flight instructor courses) are currently delivered under Central flight Training’s ATO (reference GBR.ATO.0135). Its approval covers the following:
- Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplanes) modular flying training
- Multi-Engine Piston class rating
- Competency Based Modular Instrument Rating

Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL). The modular CPL flying course, for pilots working towards a paid professional flying career.
Multi-Engine Piston (MEP) rating. Training to fly twin-engine piston aeroplanes, including engine-failure handling.

Your route to Central Flight Training
Most pilots build towards commercial training with Almat first, through the Private Pilot Licence (PPL), hour building and a Night Rating. They then complete ATPL theory with our partner Bristol Groundschool before starting commercial training with Central Flight Training. The right order depends on your experience, so we’ll help you plan it at your free consultation.
